Leah W., OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
As a North Carolina native, she is excited to be serving children and their families in the heart of North Carolina. Leah’s previous patients and supervisors have described her as positive, patient, productive, dependable, and thorough. Her professional goal is to help children improve their engagement, participation, and independence with their daily occupations within their natural contexts, including at home, at daycare, and at school. Leah realizes the importance of collaborating with families to establish goal areas for their children. She is motivated by seeing her patients make progress toward their goals and enjoys teaching her patients and their families ways to continue progressing toward their goals outside of their therapy sessions.
Leah has experience working with children in homes, daycares, schools, and in the outpatient pediatric clinic setting. Leah has evaluated and treated patients of varying age levels, diagnoses, and functional abilities, with diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delay, chromosome microdeletion, prematurity, sensory processing disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, cerebral palsy, and failure to thrive. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, going to the beach, and traveling.
