Since then, she has worked as a licensed professional in North Carolina and New York primarily in early intervention, preschool and school-aged settings. Melanie has experience with evaluation and treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down’s syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Kleefstra syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, social-emotional challenges, as well as a variety of rare genetic conditions, learning disabilities and intellectual challenges.
In these roles, Melanie has worked with families from many different areas of the United States and other countries around the world. She has provided therapy in the home, day care, classroom, and other natural environments. She has received training in Trauma Sensitive treatment and maintains certifications through the Crisis Prevention Institution as well as AED, CPR and First Aid through the American Heart Association.
Melanie understands that building a therapeutic relationship with a family is just as important as building one with the child. This helps optimize carryover and paves the way for progress. In her free time, Melanie enjoys staying active, spoiling her dog and trying new restaurants. She is excited to work closely with your family to help your child reach desired outcomes.
