Occupational Therapist
Murielle has been an Occupational Therapist for over 18 years. Murielle obtained her Master’s of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy at Touro College, in Bay Shore Long Island in New York. She completed a Pediatric Specialty Internship at the Special Programs in Occupational Therapy Services (SPOTS), Sensory Gym in NY. She worked at SPOTS for two years following the completion of her specialty internship. She then went to work at the Joan Feinchel Therapeutic Nursery and League Treatment Center.
While working at SPOTS and the Joan Feinchel Therapeutic Nursery/ League Treatment Center, she treated toddlers and children with a variety of diagnosis including; autism spectrum disorder, down syndrome, ADHD, ADD, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, sensory integration difficulties, orthopedic/ physical disabilities, learning delays, handwriting and fine motor Delays just to name a few. Murielle worked with ages 0-3 through Early Intervention Services and worked in the Public Schools in New York as well as Durham County Public Schools and Orange County Public Schools in North Carolina. Murielle has over ten years of pediatric experience.
In addition to her experience in working with the pediatric population, she also has experience working with adults with MRDD and the elderly population in long term care/skilled nursing facilities.
Murielle received training on Sensory Integration, the Wilbarger Deep Pressure/Proprioceptive Technique, Handwriting without Tears, Brunnstrom Stages of Recovery, Neurodevelopment treatment / NDT and Motor Learning during her career as an occupational therapist.
Murielle enjoys the following leisure activities; traveling to different countries, trying different restaurants/foods from various countries, going to the movies and relaxing at home.
