Occupational Therapist

Originally from Long Island, N.Y., Patricia has over 22+ years of experience working as an occupational therapist in pediatrics. She earned her degree in Occupational Therapy from New York Institute of Technology in 2001 and is licensed within North Carolina and is registered nationally.

Patricia has worked in a variety of settings, including Early Intervention programs, clinics, public schools, The Children’s Education Center at AHRC Nassau, NY, daycares, preschools, and within homes. Patricia enjoys and has worked with children with Autism, visual perceptual disorders, handwriting difficulties, fine and gross motor delays, sensory processing disorders, behavioral disorders, and developmental delays. Patricia enjoys working with children of all ages and collaborating with their families, teachers, and other team members in order to ensure the child’s success towards target skill areas. She continues to participate in ongoing coursework to expand her knowledge base in order to select techniques and methods using medical, motor, behavioral and sensory-based approaches to maximize a child’s success and functional skills.

As a mother, Patricia realizes the significance of building a rapport with both the child and family to identify the child’s motivators in order to pursue active participation during treatment sessions and achieve successful outcomes.
