Occupational Therapist
Shannon has experience providing therapeutic services to preschool-age children, where she delivers individualized and group-based interventions for children aged 2 to 5. Shannon has treated children with a variety of developmental, neurological, and physical conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Klinefelter’s Syndrome, rare genetic disorders, Down Syndrome, and PICA. Her expertise includes the development of customized treatment plans, implementation of sensory-based strategies, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to create IFSPs and IEPs.
Shannon Kenna is a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Science, both earned from Keuka College. She is nationally certified by NBCOT and has over three years of experience specializing in pediatric occupational therapy. Shannon grew up in New York and recently moved to North Carolina with her husband. Known for her strong communication skills, critical thinking, and commitment to child-centered care, Shannon works closely with families, educators, and other professionals to foster meaningful progress in children’s activities of daily living. She is based in Durham and continues to be an advocate for inclusive and adaptive therapeutic approaches within a child’s natural environment.
