Speech-Language Pathologist

Althea has over 15 years of experience working with children with a range of issues in public schools, home health, clinical settings, and private practice.

She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist dedicated to working with the pediatric population with a M.A. from Cleveland State University and a B.S. from Hampton University. She has the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and has worked in schools, home health, clinical settings, and private practice.

Althea has many years of experience working with children with a range of issues such as articulation disorders, stuttering, swallowing deficits, and social communication challenges. She has used multimodal cues, sign language, and augmentative communication to increase the child’s ability to communicate basic wants and needs. She has an emphasis on treatment by tailoring therapy to the child, family, and educators to get the best outcome for the child. Althea welcomes collaboration with family and colleagues and uses a gentle approach with evidence-based techniques to meet each child’s needs.
