Occupational Therapist

Jordan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and earned both her Associate’s and Master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. She started her career as an occupational therapy assistant which then lead her to become an occupational therapist. Her academic background and clinical training have equipped her with a strong foundation in to address the occupational needs of the child and address the specific needs and concerns that are presented.Jordan has always enjoyed working with children and has a passion to assist children to be able to thrive. She has experience working with children across a wide age range and diagnoses in an outpatient clinical setting. She has experience treating various diagnoses and concerns such as autism, ADHD, emotional regulation, sensory processing, complex feeding concerns, school readiness, and other complex medical diagnoses. Her clinical experience includes: evaluation and treatment of primitive reflex integration, management of feeding difficulties, particularly those related to sensory processing, intervention for sensory processing disorders, and support for school readiness and functional participation in educational settings.

She emphasizes a family-centered approach, actively involving caregivers in the therapeutic process to promote generalization of skills into the home and community environments. Jordan integrates parents and caregivers into sessions to enhance carryover, ensuring meaningful and lasting outcomes for each child.

Utilizing a play-based, relationship-driven, and child-led approach, Jordan focuses on building therapeutic rapport with each child to foster engagement and motivation throughout the intervention process. She is passionate about empowering families through education and collaboration, providing individualized strategies that support a child’s growth and occupational performance. She is able to provide strategies and techniques that are individualized and catered to each child and family’s specific needs at the time. Jordan is dedicated to helping children reach their fullest potential and is looking forward to partnering with families to promote functional independence and improved quality of life in daily activities.
